Gulveer Singh added a significant medal to India's athletics campaign at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, finishing second in the Men's 10,000m after a patient, well-judged race.

Gulveer sat within the lead pack through the early laps, refusing to be drawn into surges that broke up the field. He moved forward with roughly six laps remaining and stayed in contention through the closing stages to secure silver.

Indian distance running has changed markedly over the last few years, with athletes training at altitude in Ooty and Bengaluru and racing more frequently on the international circuit. Gulveer has been central to that shift, rewriting national benchmarks across the 5,000m and 10,000m.

His commitment and dedication have drawn wide praise, and the Glasgow podium places him among the most bankable Indian athletes on the track as the season progresses.
