Indian athletes continue to create history at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow — and Tejaswin Shankar has added one more chapter with a bronze medal in the Men's Decathlon.
The decathlon is the toughest test in athletics: ten events across two days, demanding speed, strength, endurance and technique in equal measure. Shankar, who first made his name as a national record-holding high jumper, has transformed himself into a genuine all-round competitor, and his consistency across the sprints, throws, jumps and the closing 1500m carried him onto the podium.
His journey — from collegiate athletics in the United States to a Commonwealth Games multi-event medal — is one of reinvention and relentless work.
Congratulations to Tejaswin Shankar. May he continue to shine.
