Yamini Maurya has won a silver medal in the Women's 57kg Judo category at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow.
She fought with intent through the draw, reading her opponents well and attacking with confidence on the mat. Her passion for judo was evident in every contest, and she pushed all the way to the final before settling for silver.
Judo has been quietly building strength in India, with growing participation across Khelo India centres, the Sports Authority of India regional hubs and state judo associations. Results like this accelerate that momentum — her feat will draw many youngsters towards judo in the coming years.
Congratulations to Yamini Maurya, and the very best for the endeavours ahead.
