About
Subhashchandra Pandharinath "Fergie" Gupte (Marathi: सुभाष गुप्ते) (11 December 1929 – 31 May 2002) was one of Test cricket's finest spin bowlers. Sir Garry Sobers, EAS Prasanna and Jim Laker pronounced him the best leg spinner they had seen. Gupte flighted and spun the ball sharply, and possessed two different googlies.
