Overview
Provides financial assistance and equipment to traditional Akharas to modernize training for wrestlers.
Eligibility
- ▸ Akhara must be functional for at least 3 years
- ▸ Must have a minimum of 20-30 regular trainees
- ▸ Registration as a society or trust is preferred
Benefits
- ✓ One-time grant for purchase of wrestling mats and multi-gym equipment
- ✓ Grant of up to Rs. 5 Lakhs for modernization
- ✓ Technical support from SAI coaches
Documents required
- ▪ Aadhaar card
- ▪ Proof of age (birth certificate / school certificate)
- ▪ Domicile / residence proof
- ▪ Recent passport-size photograph
- ▪ Sports achievement certificates (state / national)
- ▪ Bank account details (passbook copy)
- ▪ Coach / academy recommendation letter (if applicable)
- ▪ Medical fitness certificate
