Note: Circular F.No. K-15012/3/2021-SP-IV(v) dated 19 May 2021 (the 2021 cycle) lists the same four categories and states that nominations are invited from recognised National Sports Federations, the Indian Olympic Association, industry chambers (FICCI, ASSOCHAM, CII), NGOs and state/national sports bodies, State Governments, SAI and the various government sports control/promotion boards; any corporate entity, public or private, that has contributed to sports promotion may also apply directly.
Eligibility
- ▸ Identification and nurturing of budding talent — at least 50 young sportspersons identified and nurtured each year over the last three years
- ▸ Encouragement to sport through CSR — minimum 5% of gross profit, or not less than ₹2 crore, contributed in the preceding three financial years (audited accounts required)
- ▸ Employment of sportspersons and welfare measures — at least 50 sportspersons recruited in the last three years
- ▸ Sport for development — at least three years of continuous work in the field
- ▸ Sports departments of State and Central Governments are not considered

Applications are invited only through the online portal; eligible entities may self-apply without any recommendation and receive a unique registration number for further correspondence. The Government may also nominate deserving entities that have not applied.

Who cannot apply?+
