Overview
This scheme provides substantial cash incentives to athletes who win medals in recognized international championships like Olympics, Asian Games, and Commonwealth Games.
Eligibility
- ▸ Must be an Indian citizen
- ▸ Must have won a medal in a recognized international event (Olympic/Para-Olympic/Asian/Commonwealth/Deaflympics/World Championships)
- ▸ The event must be organized by the International Federation recognized by the IOC/IPC
Benefits
- ✓ Olympic Gold Medal: ₹75 lakh; Silver: ₹50 lakh; Bronze: ₹30 lakh
- ✓ Asian/Commonwealth Games Gold Medal: ₹30 lakh; Silver: ₹20 lakh; Bronze: ₹10 lakh
- ✓ World Championship (Olympic discipline) Gold: ₹40 lakh; Silver: ₹25 lakh; Bronze: ₹15 lakh
- ✓ Coaches receive cash awards equivalent to 50% of the award given to the athlete

Application process
Medal winners must apply through their National Sports Federations (NSFs) within 1 month of the conclusion of the event.
