Editorial policy

Editorial purpose

SportSupport.in helps readers understand Indian sport and discover athletes, organisations, programmes and opportunities. Our public editorial credit is the sportsupport.in team. We do not expose private reviewer identities or present an automated output as a personal author’s reporting. News, summaries and directory records have different purposes; we aim to make their limitations visible rather than presenting every page as an official or fully verified record. Advertising, when enabled, is intended to support the service and should not determine factual conclusions.

Sources and evidence

Our editorial standard is: “Every claim carries its source.” This is a target for accountable publication, not a certification that every legacy page has already met it. We prefer official result sheets, notifications, federation records, government documents and direct institutional publications for concrete claims. Reputable reporting may provide additional context and attributed statements. A plausible-looking URL is not a citation: the referenced page must be checked for both availability and the claim it supports. If we cannot identify adequate evidence, we should omit the assertion, qualify it or mark the source as pending instead of inventing a document or amount.

Verification and uncertainty

Checking a source means assessing the particular statement, not merely opening a homepage. We distinguish a primary document from a secondary report, a dated historical list from current eligibility, and a confirmed result from a scheduled fixture. Conflicting sources deserve an explicit explanation where material. A badge must reflect its supporting evidence rather than a desired appearance. A public listing may contain supplied editorial attribution that has not independently established every fact. We do not silently turn that attribution into a claim of primary-document verification.

Reporting and analysis

Match summaries should identify the event and result clearly. Original analysis should explain why a development matters, provide relevant Indian context and separate interpretation from recorded facts. We do not add generic paragraphs simply to achieve a word-count target. Useful analysis requires specific supporting material and judgement, not repetition of a scorecard. Statistics need an identifiable scope and source. Predictions and possible next steps must not be written as completed outcomes. Short or incomplete pages are candidates for further work and may be excluded from search indexing while remaining accessible to visitors.

Corrections and reader requests

Send corrections to supportsupport.in@gmail.com with the exact page address, the statement at issue, the proposed correction and a reliable source. The team’s stated email response commitment is within one hour; checking evidence and completing a correction can take longer. We review the evidence, compare relevant records and amend confirmed factual errors. Material corrections should be clear to readers, with an appropriate update or correction note. We will not invent a public correction history or a review date for work that did not occur. Privacy, misidentification and rights concerns may require removing or limiting a record rather than adding detail.

Dates, accountability and commercial separation

Publication dates identify when a report was issued; review dates identify an editorial review; operational database updates are not automatically editorial revisions. We use a last-updated label only with meaningful page-specific evidence, and avoid cosmetic date changes that make old content look fresh. Sources belong with the relevant content and should remain available at the end of reports where practical. Sponsored material must be identified if introduced. Contributors should disclose relevant interests to the team. Readers can challenge our handling of a correction using the same contact address; no policy guarantees perfect accuracy, but transparent sourcing and visible uncertainty make errors easier to identify and address.
