DISCONTINUED — historical reference only. RGKA replaced the Panchayat Yuva Krida Aur Khel Abhiyan (PYKKA) with effect from 1 April 2014 to build panchayat and block-level sports infrastructure and rural competitions. It was subsequently subsumed into the Khelo India scheme; no fresh applications are accepted. Apply under Khelo India instead.

MGNREGA met 50% of the block complex cost.

Note: Kept on the site as a historical reference because the scheme is still widely searched for. It funded Gram Panchayat playfields (through MGNREGA convergence) and block-level sports complexes with 11 outdoor and 5 indoor disciplines, plus block-to-national competitions including rural, women and North East games, with priority for North Eastern states and 88 Left Wing Extremism affected districts.
