Listed as operational, but with no athletes in training

Trainees on the official list: 0 male, 0 female.

Confirm with the state sports department before travelling here or planning around it.

Status and counts as published in Khelo India — List of KISCEs (PDF).

Sourcing caveat: One institution, two designations: Puducherry's government school of sports is also the UT's Khelo India State Centre of Excellence, which the Khelo India list records as operational but with no trainees for weightlifting, athletics and badminton. The six sports, age rule and free-boarding statement above are the school's own. Two Puducherry entities are deliberately not listed as academies: the Youth Hostel (budget lodging at ₹40/₹60 per person — its tariffs are not academy fees) and the Pondicherry State Sports Council (a grant-giving council, not a training centre).

Admission process

  1. You cannot submit an open application. Places are filled by induction decided by the state centre together with SAI.
  2. The Khelo India list states it verbatim: “Induction of athletes in various KISCEs is under process. Indiution/weeding out of athletes is round-the-year activity for all KISCEs.” (spelling as printed in the PDF.)
  3. No application channel, trial date, fee or contact is published for any KISCE — so we publish none.
