About the academy
Asia's largest sports institute and SAI's flagship coach-education and training campus. Since 1961, Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports, Patiala has operated from Patiala, Punjab, building a structured pathway from grassroots talent identification through to senior elite competition. The academy is sai-recognised training centre and runs both residential and day-scholar programmes for ages 12–25 years.

Admissions
Trials are held in June & December for age-group categories. Shortlisted candidates undergo a 3-day assessment covering physical testing, sport-specific skills and an interview with the head coach. Scholarships are awarded on merit to athletes with state or national-level results.
