About
The Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) is the national governing body for the sport of table tennis in India. Founded in 1926 and headquartered in New Delhi, TTFI is affiliated to the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) and the Asian Table Tennis Union (ATTU), and is recognised by the Indian Olympic Association and the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports as the sole national federation for the sport. The TTFI selects the Indian senior men's and women's national teams, along with U-19, U-17, U-15 and U-13 age-group teams, for the Olympic Games, the ITTF World Table Tennis Championships, the ITTF World Team Championships, the WTT event series, the World Junior Championships, the Asian Games, the Asian Table Tennis Championships, the Asian Cup, the Commonwealth Games and the Commonwealth Table Tennis Championships. Domestically it conducts the Senior National and Inter-State Table Tennis Championships, the Junior, Youth, Cadet and Sub-Junior National Championships, the North / South / East / West Zone Championships, the Ultimate Table Tennis league and the National Ranking Tournaments across four rating categories that determine the national ranking used for team selection. TTFI also runs referee, umpire and coach education programmes aligned with ITTF certification.
