Sources & provenance

Figures for India's result at the Paris 2024 Paralympics, the 38th National Games 2025 and the Commonwealth Games 2026, and India's Milan-Cortina 2026 result (no medals, 2 athletes), are owner-verified (SportSupport editorial verification, last verified 2026-08-30). Nothing on this page is estimated or interpolated: where a placing, a silver/bronze split or a further podium position was not supplied, the cell or row is omitted rather than filled in.

Asian Games Aichi–Nagoya 2026 standings are taken from the Indian Olympic Association's published medal table (olympic.ind.in/asian-games-2026), last verified 2026-10-05. Only the top six nations are held for this edition.

Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics standings are the final IOC medal table (116 of 116 events), cross-checked against the Wikipedia 2026 Winter Olympics medal table, last verified 2026-10-05.

Winter Olympics standings for Beijing 2022, PyeongChang 2018 and Sochi 2014 are full final tables including all official medal reallocations to date, taken from the IOC-based Wikipedia medal tables for Beijing 2022 and Sochi 2014 and the IOC's official medal table for PyeongChang 2018, last verified 2026-10-05.

Paralympic Games standings for Paris 2024, Tokyo 2020 and Rio 2016 are the full final tables, taken from the Wikipedia medal tables for each Games, which are based on International Paralympic Committee data, last verified 2026-10-05. The Paris 2024 table follows the IPC's official table, which does not include Neutral Paralympic Athletes.

National Games standings were checked against published final results on 2026-10-05. Goa 2023 and Kerala 2015 were corrected against the Wikipedia medal tables for the 37th National Games and the 35th National Games; the Gujarat 2022 podium matches the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports reply in the Lok Sabha of 13 December 2022; the Uttarakhand 2025 podium is owner-verified and matches the published final table. Only the leading teams are held for each National Games edition.

Summer Olympic standings for London 2012, Beijing 2008 and Tokyo 2020 follow the current IOC-based medal tables, which include official doping-related reallocations made since each Games closed, and the All-Time Olympic Tally is the Summer Games table compiled from IOC results. The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games and Incheon 2014 Asian Games tables were corrected to their current published final standings. All seven sources were checked on 2026-10-05.

The former "World Championships" tab has been removed. World championships are sport-specific, and the tally it displayed had no recoverable scope — no stated list of sports, years or sources — so none of its numbers could be checked by a reader or by us.
