Bajrang Punia

World-medal-winning freestyle wrestler at 65kg and Tokyo 2020 Olympic bronze medallist. One of the three most visible faces of the 2023 wrestlers' protest against then-WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Currently serving a four-year NADA ban (from 23 April 2024, running to 2028) for refusing to provide a urine sample at the March 2024 national trials, and is barred from competitive wrestling and international coaching during the sanction. Punia has publicly linked the ban to what he calls prejudicial treatment following the protests; that framing is his own claim, but the sanction itself is confirmed and active.
