40 minutes (two 20-minute halves) with a 5-minute break
Scoring
Raider scores touch points; defenders score tackle points; bonus and all-out points apply

Key rules

  • A raider must cross the baulk line and return to their half while continuously chanting 'kabaddi'.
  • A defender is out if touched by the raider, and the raider is out if tackled before returning.
  • An 'all-out' awards 2 bonus points and revives the opposing team.
