Note: The 27.09.2016 document restructured Khelo India from a Centrally Sponsored to a Central Sector Scheme on the advice of the Ministry of Finance. Competitions run at block, district, state and national level in Under-14 and Under-17 groups, 100% centrally funded. Indicative maximum talents eligible for scholarship: 9,765 at district level, 1,980 at state/UT level and 400 at national level, each eligible for only one scholarship, for the highest level attained, paid through DBT. ₹230 crore was earmarked for competitions in 2016-17 within an overall ₹500 crore allocation, against an indicative full-scale requirement of ₹1,885 crore.
